The latest album release, “Tonal Eclipse,” is now officially available on all your favorite platforms!

Included in this release are:

  • “Tonal Eclipse (Of the Heart)” is a groovy mashup of live samples taken from spontaneous recordings captured by Sarah while visiting family in Hawaii, as well as a rehash of the historic train sounds in Pierre Schaeffer’s seminal “Railway Etude” from 1948.
  • The full soundtrack from the dark-humor film short, “I Spy a Foodie” — written and directed by Thresa Richardson — is included in this release! * Nominated for the 2020 Roger Taylor Award for Short Film Score *

Enjoy a Sneak Peek at a Couple of WIPs

I’ve made a couple of cool demo videos for you to take a peek at these two works I’ve got on the burner right now… 🙂

First, a look at “Ayre of Grievances” for flute, violin, and viola (a digital playback demo of just the opening section):

Second, here’s a short example of a cool sampling piece I’m putting together: “Tonal Eclipse”

Enjoy, and keep an eye out for the finished works soon!

New Release: “Isolation Loop”

Now available everywhere– Isolation Loop…

“Isolation Loop” is an original creation made with loops broken down from H.I.F. Biber’s Passacaglia for solo violin from his Rosary Sonatas of 1676. The viola and violins blend with a driving soundscape of synthesis and drums to create a haunting texture at home in any era.

Listen to it your preferred way at the link!

Basement Jams: Looper Experiment #1, “Mellow”

I’m back in my basement studio with my native flute, handpan, and my viola to experiment with the AudioKit L7 looper app! (I love AudioKit’s app SynthOne, too–I highly recommend checking it out!)

Ideally, I would use headphones and record the sound properly, but I wanted to see how the app handled a spontaneous “live” sort of setting…. Enjoy this randomly improvised, modern passacaglia, and expect more musical experiments to come… 😉

By the by, be sure to check out my single Chant de Grenouille sur la Lune if you like this kind of sound.

New Movement for “Nevermore” Available, with Demo

If you’ve enjoyed “The Raven” from my recent suite for viola and piano, Nevermore, then you might be pleased to know I’ve just finished the second movement, “Annabel Lee.”

I think this poem by Edgar Allen Poe might be one of my favorite literary works… 🤔🥰 I tried to keep the sense of innocence and deep sorrow in this musical rendition. There is a third and final movement–“Tell-Tale Heart”–planned for the future, too; so keep an eye out for that. 😉

In the meantime, enjoy the simple demo of “Annabel Lee” below…
