My Dark Glass Sinfonia for symphony orchestra is the second track on this amazing album, coming out soon from Navona Records. And you can pre-order it now! 🙂
…Next comes Dark Glass Sinfonia by Sarah Wallin Huff, in which crumpled dissonances flower into exuberant tonality, capitalizing on the full dynamic range of the orchestra… In PRISMA VOL. 3, seven masters of this challenging artform rethink what a symphony orchestra is capable of, and in so doing, present their audience with a unique and gratifying musical experience.
The Dark Glass Sinfonia is Wallin-Huff’s latest composition for symphony orchestra. Built upon an integrated set of hexachordal formulae – blending the concepts of free atonality with modal harmony – this work represents the enigmatic and ongoing, emotional flux of the Soul. Running time: approx. 6 minutes.
…I plan on expounding further on how I constructed this work later… 😉
Update 1/21/2017: This piece is finished, and has even been premiered live by the Santa Clarita Phil! And… I’ve just released a recording of it on the new album, ESOTERICA! 🙂
I feel like my new work, “Madrigal, for Orchestra,” is finally coming along nicely, headed in a clearer direction now. I’m so excited about it! Enjoy this brief sneak peek of the opening 5:30 minutes…. Hope to be officially finished with it within the next few weeks; I can’t wait to see where it goes from here! 🙂
