On Sunday, July 14th, at 2pm,
I’ll be participating in an educational performance at the Sam Maloof House in Alta Loma, CA with local violin maker Jim Brown!
We’ll be presenting a really unique act featuring Jim Brown as “the iconic Italian violin maker of the Baroque period” and me as the artist-performer of the future!! 🙂
As a part of our program, the audience will get to observe the hows and whys and wherefores of the Italian style of violin making, and I’ll get to present a host of short works on all three of my “Babies,” demonstrating music from the Baroque period, the Romantic, and even a few of my own 21st century works, all on my acoustic violin, viola, and my 6-string electric violin!
On the program are:
- the Corelli Allegro (mvt. 3 from his Violin Sonata No. 1, Op. 5),
- the Thais Meditation,
- and my own charming work “Oppression” on Flora;
- I’ll also be accompanying Jim Brown’s voice on the aria Vecchia zimarra from Puccini’s La Boheme on my new viola Minerva;
- and I’ll even get to whip out “Personal Echo” on Aisling and my new delay pedal!
It promises to be a really fun and informative show! If you can make it, I really hope to see you there!
