Spring Student Recital

Announcing the Academy of Music’s Spring Student Recital – this Sunday, May 21st, at the Balch Auditorium in the Claremont Colleges! There will be one recital every hour, starting at 11am and going all day, and students participating will cover all instrument-types, levels of ability, and genres of music.

I am pleased to say that seven of my violin students (from the Academy, Rowland Music, and my own Lark Ascending Studio) will be performing that day. Starting at noon, Don Lee will perform the Twinkle Variations of Schinichi Suzuki and Luke Grumbine will perform the Repeal of the Union Reel, a traditional Irish fiddle tune. Then, starting at 1pm, Valerie Kendati will perform Lightly Row, Brandon Sandoval will perform Minuet 3 by J.S. Bach, Keith Sorrells from Orange County will perform the beloved Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring also by J.S. Bach, Tanner Hardy will perform Gossec‘s Gavotte, and, at the finale of the 1pm recital, Marissa John will perform the first movement of Concerto No. 5 by Frederich Seitz, with Janet Noll accompnaying her on piano.

Good luck to you all! I know you will do wonderfully!
