The Musical Baton Continues . . .

My beloved, James, has passed the “Musical Baton” chain-blog to me! So, here goes; a little about me . . .

Total volume of music files on my computer:

764 songs on iTunes (I have plenty of other CDs, though, that I haven’t gotten around to putting on my computer.)

The last CD I bought was:

“Beyond the Mind’s Eye”, original soundtrack by Jan Hammer.

(Still looking, too, for the hard-to-find-at-a-decent-price soundtrack, “The Mind’s Eye”, by James Reynolds, if anyone could steer me in the right direction . . .) =)

Song playing right now:

“Whispers in Blindness”, by Ace of Base.

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:

(oooh, only five?!)

  • “Sing, Sing, Sing”, as performed by Barrage
  • “Violin Concerto”, by Philip Glass
  • “Ubi Caritas”, by Cantara
  • “Fable”, by Amethystium
  • “Before You Die You See the Ring”, from the original soundtrack for The Ring, by Hans Zimmer

Five people to whom I’m passing the baton:

(Well . . . this is the only one of my friends whom I know has a blog . . .)

  1. Gee whiz, Sarah! …you passed the musical baton to me and I have no one else to pass it on to, so if you do not mind, then I’ll leave it stationery on your website in this comment post.

If someone reads this, and so desires, then please pick up the baton and pass it on. Here goes…

Well, I just replaced the hard drive and memory sticks on my Mac, so all of my music collection was wiped out just last week …but no fear, for everything was backed up and is slowly being reloaded and placed carefully back into their proper files.

I think I had over a couple of gigabytes of music in i-Tunes and in other folders: everything from gospel MIDI and MP3 files to my personal music files, ect.

The last CD I bought was that one with the song Bad, Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce, or was it one of John Denver’s albums? or maybe it was Chariots of Fire 😉 My wife gives me my Ginko pill every morning, I don’t think it helps very much.

Right now, I am humming, “How Great Thou Art!” Been humming that great Christian hymn all afternoon and evening. God must have known in advance what Sarah was going to do to me this evening!

My favorite tunes are: 1) How Great Thou Art, 2) Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, 3) In The Garden, 4) O, Word Of God Incarnate, and 5) Open My Eyes That I May See.

Do I listen to anything other than Gospel music? Not much, but I do very much enjoy Sarah’s wonderful, orchestral masterpiece, Bleeding Heart!

Thanks Sarah for allowing me to participate in this musical baton marathon with you …..and on your server space….. and for being such a great friend.

    God’s very best to all,

    Joe
