Last night I participated in the annual Awards Banquet for the Music Department of Diamond Ranch High School, celebrating the students’ achievements this past year in the Band, Orchestra, and Pageantry. This was the first year I was able to come support them as their Strings Coach! Sadly, it will also be my last, in the forseeable future… It was at this event that I was able to take the opportunity to announce my departure as their Coach (for reasons I will be announcing VERY soon — I am embarking on a HUGE change in my life), after some 5 or 6 years (minimum!) of teaching there.

And the students were absolutely warm and loving that night toward me, blessing me with shouts and cries (I was the coach with the grandest adulation, every time I crossed the stage!!!) and heartwarming gifts of personal and sentimental value which I will treasure always — I will miss them greatly!

I enjoy them and love them so very much!

Hee hee, my day was just completely made! In setting things up to move forward with PARMA, I’ve been told I apparently have a lot of fans there in the office… They seem to like me and my music quite a lot!

DRHS Orchestra to debut Courage Triptych

On Sunday May 26th, the orchestra of the Diamond Ranch High School (where I’ve been privileged to work as the strings coach for the past 5 years or so) will be debuting my three-Image work, “Courage Triptych”! They’ve been working so hard on this!

The performance will take place at the Fox Theater in Pomona — I have to get more details on time and tickets, etc! But, for now, enjoy this little sample that I snuck from the rehearsal this morning… I’m so proud of them!

The contract with PARMA Recordings for the recording, design and release of my next three compositions with them (“Counterpoint Invariable,” “Adoré,” and “Gypsy Wanderer“) has been fully negotiated and signed! We’re Moving Forward!

And I just have to say how much I Love and Respect PARMA! They are a WONDERFUL company to work with! <3

I’m a MLP Fan

So one of my little violin students has made me an official member of her My Little Pony Club (and I get to be Silver Spoon!).

As part of my “homework” in joining her club, I needed to catch up on my viewing… Well, now I’m hooked! I grew up watching MLP in the 80′s, but Friendship is Magic is sooooo much better! Really fun and clever, great characters and interaction, even by adult standards!

Here is a combined clip from one of my most favorite episodes (I’m almost through Season 1!): “Bridle Gossip.” I literally ROFL’d when this came on!

As you can see, right now we’re at $40 out of $20,000… Yikes!

I know it often takes a while to get a fundraiser going, BUT I also know of all the great encouragement and congrats I’ve received regarding this good news so far! So I know we can accomplish this feat together, and quickly!! If you have the urge to contribute and become a special Backer to this project, follow your instinct when it calls, lol! ^___^

One more idea I’ve added to this campaign!

If you or someone (or a community of people) you know, in the Southern California region, would be willing to host a wonderful concert of beautiful chamber music, including beloved favorites as well as original music by yours-truly, let me know!

I will gladly organize and perform a FREE concert — big or small, at a large venue or a private home, outdoors or indoors, makes no difference — of music for you and your community and friends! During the concert, we’ll take up a raffle with funds going toward this campaign, and I’ll offer a Prize Package similar to some of the Backer’s Rewards offered in this campaign, including vouchers for a free copy of the All-NEW Sarah Debut CD when it’s complete, as well as copies of my currently available CD, T-shirts, scores, and more!

This will be so fun! I have many dates open between now and throughout the summer….

I’d like to have most of the funds in by the end of June…into July at the latest!
