Next Attempt for Book 1
Hooray!!!!
It’s been awhile since my last post concerning news of my trilogy, I know. With all the musical excitement going on around here recently, I honestly just haven’t had the focus or energy to pick up where I’d left off… But, I think I’m in position now to get going again!
To spearhead this movement forward — after receiving some wise words from professional editor and friend, Ken Glaser, and fixing up just a couple other minor things to really polish this work up — I finally submitted In Pursuit of Truth to my Publisher Pick #2, Baen Books.
I was only planning on researching the company’s submission guidelines tonight to begin preparations. But when I found that they prefer online submissions and required everything that I’d already had prepared from my first attempt, well, I figured I might as well get this ball rolling!
So, it’s official — Book 1 has been submitted again… Keep your fingers crossed! …um, for the next 12-18 months… LOL!!!….
Thanks again, all my dear Nerdy Fans for your love and support!… I’m really looking forward to continuing my work in Book 3 this week and onward, at least semi-regularly again…I know a lot of you have been waiting patiently to see what happens next, hee hee…
Ready to go!
In case you haven’t guessed already, I’ve finally completed all the elements required to submit Book 1 to my first publisher-pick! Yippee! Momentous occasion!
Book-One Blurb
…for those who’ve been waiting for a true summary…
“In Pursuit of Truth takes place in the year 2241. America has undergone a ‘century of tyranny,’ which has established such elements of societal control as Homestate Restriction laws and the Allowance-Level System. Perhaps most dramatically, there exists a new country with its own fully developed language and culture, that of the island of Artemisia. Emerging from a history of corruption and war, the people of Artemisia are locked in a twisted maze of intrigue… Janice Smith, a twelve-year-old girl from Louisiana, is unwittingly thrust into the heart of this conflict when her mother is secretly targeted as a national threat. She embarks on a journey to preserve her own life from the government agents who pursue her and hopes all the while to find her mother alive at the end of it… and the seeds of deception take root to forever haunt Janice’s future…”
Update on POD Progress
I am thrilled to announce that my required Synopsis (i.e., “cliff notes”) for In Pursuit of Truth is finally complete! It was quite the exercise, let me tell you; it’s practically a work of art in itself, and I’m quite proud of the end product. All I have left to do now is write a short-and-sweet cover letter, package it all up, and send it off to the first attempted publisher for review! Stay tuned for further news…
About the Trilogy…
…Hopefully, some of my nerdy fans will help me come up with a better name for it than “the Trilogy”, ha-ha-ha! …
POD: the Intro
Something amazing has taken place in my life recently, and I’ve realized and accepted that it deserves a place on this blog as much as any and all of my glorious music-happenings do.
The tagline of my life (i.e., Blog) is Violinist, Author, Composer/Arranger, and Educator, right? So what’s up with this new Author part, anyway? I know, many of my closest friends out there have already been lambasted with all the nitty-gritty details behind this news for about the past year or so, and the avalanche keeps coming as things get moving, faster and faster here. I apologize ahead of time if any of you feel this is overkill, lol! But I felt it’s finally time to move this announcement to an official place on this blog, since it’s, well, all about Me. Hee hee…
Well, let’s start with a little background…
